Why buy a car security system?

Everyone should have an alarm for their vehicle, to protect your vehicle and to protect the contents of your car, such as your car stereo, sunglasses, and other valuables.  Many insurance companies also give insurance rate discounts to drivers who have an alarm system installed in their vehicles.  Many older cars never came standard with alarms, but newer cars generally do come with some sort of security system.  The 2010 Chevy Equinox is an example of a new car that does come standard with an alarm system.
