Why buy a car security system?

Everyone should have an alarm for their vehicle, to protect your vehicle and to protect the contents of your car, such as your car stereo, sunglasses, and other valuables.  Many insurance companies also give insurance rate discounts to drivers who have an alarm system installed in their vehicles.  Many older cars never came standard with alarms, but newer cars generally do come with some sort of security system.  The 2010 Chevy Equinox is an example of a new car that does come standard with an alarm system.

Given the recent popularity of the Chevy Equinox, it is bound to find itself on the National Insurance Crime Bureau’s list of top 10 most stolen cars soon enough.  Quite often vehicles that sell the most also have the highest incidence of theft and break-ins.  With the alarm system standar on all new Chevy Equinox’s ,  there is some hope that it won’t make an appearance on the top 10 list.

So when you are shopping for your next new car be sure to inquire whether it comes standard with an alarm, like the Chevy Equinox specs, or at least make sure there is an manufacturers option, or at the very least, an aftermarket Chevy Equinox alarm is possible for the model you are looking at.
